The Fendt Katana 850 in the far north

The company Bredehöft & Partner GmbH is located in the far north, in the district of Cuxhaven. The Bredehöft family business is run by Michael Bredehöft and his brother and employs 62 people. They are active in agricultural engineering, farm management and agricultural contracting.

Convinced farm managers: Efficient in maize and grass

The silage and maize harvest is of the greatest importance for the contractors. Michael Bredehöft reports problems with previous forage harvesters, which often struggled with crop flow problems in the grass during harvesting. However, the Bredehöfts were impressed when they tested the Fendt Katana 850. The Fendt Katana 850 mastered the high harvest volumes in the first cut without any problems and also scored points with its low fuel consumption in Eco mode.

The contractor also harvests a lot of maize and a mixture of maize and beans, the so-called maize-bean, whereby the latter presents a particular challenge. However, this is no problem with the twelve-row Kemper 390 Pro implement. Customers are satisfied because the chopping quality is very good and the grain is optimally processed. Up to this point, the Katana had reliably chopped through 400 hours without failure. The Bredehöfts are also very satisfied with the support provided by the Fendt dealer, Schröder.
Dirk Bredehöft is enthusiastic about the driving comfort of the Fendt Katana 850, thanks to its rear axle suspension. The reversible fan also saves a lot of time and the large Liebherr 6-cylinder in-line engine with 847 hp ensures a huge throughput. A big plus: the work is really fun.

Enthusiastic employees: pure job satisfaction

Yannick Krückel, driver at Bredehöft & Partner GmbH, also sees great advantages in the Fendt Katana 850. He is always working on moorland sites and is impressed, where other machines have problems with dirt in the swath, the Fendt Katana 850 shows its strengths. This makes it very easy for him and the other drivers. Chopping and loading takes place continuously without interruption and minimises the problematic stopping in moorland terrain. His colleague Matthis Grimm, who works primarily with silo rollers, appreciates the high quality of the chopped maize, which significantly speeds up the processing in the silo.

Satisfied customer: Happy to return next year

Jan Dirk von der Lieth, Managing Director of LS Bioenergie GbR from Geestland, operates a 500 kW biogas plant together with his father and another family. Each season, 200 hectares of maize and 250 hectares of grass have to be harvested for fermentation.

This year, Bredehöft & Partner used the new Fendt Katana 850 for the first time. Jan Dirk reports enthusiastically: “We started harvesting grass and immediately realised that the Katana has an enormous throughput. The chop quality was excellent, better than with other forage harvesters. The grass was cut very short, which helps us in the biogas plant as we save on mixing times and electricity.”

Jan Dirk also emphasises the reliability of the Fendt Katana 850: “We are very satisfied and even manage more than usual.” He is convinced that the Katana will also be his first choice next year, as it simply delivers better quality.

Contented managing directors: Here's to many more years

“Good machine, good driving comfort.” We will definitely continue to operate the machine,” says Dirk Bredehöft. They definitely don't regret having the machine in their fleet. What's more, your customers already want the Fendt Katana 850 to bring in the harvest again next year.
