Fendt 9490 X on a successful demo drive

Fendt dealer Karl Mertz has taken a Fendt 9490 X combine harvester on a demo drive. The “Demo Caravan” consisted of a demo pilot along with Thomas Poulsen and Henrik Jepsen from Karl Mertz.

The 9490 X combine harvester was accompanied on the drive by an 824 Vario tractor and a Sneglevogn, Customers had the choice of driving the combine harvester themselves or leaving this to the demo pilot. Thomas Poulsen summed up the demo drive afterwards: “The purpose of the drive was to show the new Fendt combine harvester - and its many benefits and qualities - to as many people as possible. At the same time, it was very important to be able to try out the machine on the customers’ own grounds, as they were better able to compare it with their own combines.

Positive customer reactions

The demo caravan visited a total of 17 farmers in Lolland and Falster and managed to reap approx. 280 ha. in total.
Rape, winter barley, spring barley and wheat too were all harvested. We started with rape because the large quantities of materials made high demands of the cutter bar. It was a great success and was highly praised by the farmers.

Praise for the cutter bar and cabin

The customers were impressed by several things about the combine harvester. Thomas Poulsen points out the following: “The new 35-foot PowerFlow cutter bar has reaped a great deal of praise - not least on account of the rape. But it was also noted that in the places where there was lodging the machine was extremely good at fetching it up from the ground. With regard to the new Skyline cabin, the customers noted in particular that they immediately “felt at home”, as they could recognise a great deal of the cabin fittings and functions from the Fendt tractors. Fendt-Traktoren.

Among other things, they appreciated the familiar arm rest and the large screen. Those who were being introduced to the Fendt for the first time found they could quickly and easily find their way around and use the navigation, etc. In addition, there was a lot of praise for the large window surface, which gives you an overall view of the entire cutting area - and for the cabin’s low noise level. We also noted that customers were very pleased with the maxi-spreader at the rear of the machine, which, with its 2 rotating blades, spread the quantities of straw over the entire 35-foot area,” concludes Thomas Poulsen..

Conclusion and results:

Thomas Poulsen believes the demo drive was a truly great success, which he would be happy to do again. Karl Mertz has already sold 5 new Fendt combine harvesters - and we’ve also had a fantastic dialogue with the customers.

The larger capacity was important

Torben Jørgensen

Lolland. 425 ha. for crop growing, with barley, wheat and beets. 1,200 sows

After trying out the new Fendt X-series combine harvester, we have decided to invest in one. The test drives were very promising. I was particularly impressed by the large cutter bar, which steadily feeds the crops into the combine, while at the same time it is good at threshing the crops clean. Our requirement for a large capacity is satisfied - and of course we know that Fendt stands for quality. Last but not least, it has been important for us that we know our dealer personally and know that he is always ready to provide help, service and support,” concludes Torben.

A high level of comfort and familiar Fendt qualities

Jan Harlund

Lolland. 340 ha. for crop growing with wheat, spring barley for malt and sugar beet

Jan Harlund has been trying out a Fendt X-series combine harvester and has decided to purchase it together with his neighbour. “I am particularly impressed by the comfort. E.g. we tried to open the door while it was being loaded with cereals, and then discovered how quiet it was in the cabin when the door is shut! It’s also a great advantage that we are already familiar with a lot of features in the driver's cabin. The menu, screen and navigation are quickly mastered - it was so easy from the very beginning. At the same time, it has been important for us to know that, if you have a Fendt, it comes with support and action, which we know works well…”
