Perfect comfort for long driving hours

"Compared with earlier tractors, I found there was a great difference in reliability. I started to put my trust in Fendt and Lantmännen Maskin and ever since then I have continued to invest in more Fendt tractors. It stung a little when I bought my first 828, but it proved to be an excellent investment,” says Joacim. "Everyone should experience how well a Fendt drives,” says Joachim Svantesson, owner of Joacims Maskintjänst in Töreboda. The machinery station has become specialised in grassland and, apart from equipment for haymaking, pressing and manure spreading, the machinery depot houses five Fendt tractors: one 820, one 724, two 828s and the newly acquired 828 S4, which was supplied last summer. The tractors do an average of 1,500 - 1,700 hours per year. “My first Fendt was an 820 and it worked amazingly well,” says Joacim. " Compared with earlier tractors, I found there was a great difference in reliability. I started to put my trust in Fendt and Lantmännen Maskin and ever since then I have continued to invest in more Fendt tractors. It stung a little when I bought my first 828, but it proved to be an excellent investment,” says Joacim.

A lot of benefits with Fendt

Apart from reliability, Joacim cites comfort, low fuel consumption and the support he receives from Lantmännen Maskin in Skövde as the main reasons for choosing Fendt. “I only drive Fendt so, as far as fuel consumption is concerned, I don’t have anything else to compare with. But I use 18.1-18.4 litres per hour. Consumption is even lower for haymaking and, according to my colleagues who drive different makes, it is significantly lower than their consumption.”

Comfort is important

Comfort is important for Joacim, whose working hours are many and long. “I have opted for compressed air suspension for the cabin of my new 828 S4, and a comfortable driver’s seat. The comfort is fantastic and the tractor drives smoothly, quietly and calmly. I notice that I manage to drive many hours a day without getting tired,” he says and continues: “Another plus is the transmission, which makes the tractor easy and smooth to drive. When you change the driving speed, the tractor really is stepless. The terminal is then simple and logical and this, together with the stepless Vario transmission, makes it easy to train new drivers."

VarioGuide ensures precise driving

Joacim has opted for VarioGuide on all his tractors. “It ensures precise driving. It is smooth and easy to use and easy to learn,” says Joacim, who finds that it is to his great advantage to use the same monitor as for the tractor data. “It’s nice not to rely on separate monitors, which hinders visibility. We started with something else but have now completely converted to Fendt’s own system, VarioGuide. We use ISOBUS coupling for most machinery. It is very smooth,” says Joacim.

The new 828 S4 has also been equipped with VarioGrip tyre pressure regulation and Joacim finds it is very easy to change the air pressure. “Up until now we have only used it for changing machinery and driving transport between fields. But we shall use it a lot more when we start the manure spreading. A lower tyre pressure reduces wheel slip, gives a better fuel consumption and improved traction - so that can only be a plus,” he states in summary.
