Fendt promises – the press tests.

It has proven its power. Now it’s your turn.
The Fendt 900 Vario increases the performance of your entire fleet in terms of power transmission, versatility and, of course, fuel economy. In addition to the numerous tests results, the twenty-year success story of the Fendt 900 Vario also confirms that it is an ideal tractor for demanding applications in large farming enterprises and contracting businesses. Overview of the top results.

profi (8/2015)

In the practice-oriented PowerMix measurements, it becomes clear just how well the interplay between the engine and transmission control on the Fendt works. The 939 consumed only 242 g/kWh - that is a new record, especially because it only required 11 g/kWh of DEF! It is similar for transport: At 40 km/h, the consumption was nearly 22% below the average of all previously measured tractors, at 50 km/h it was also 20% lower.

profi (8/2015)

We know of nothing better, when it comes to headland management, terminal and multifunction

profi (8/2015)

Apropos draft work: Fendt is the only manufacturer to offer an integral tyre pressure regulation system directly from the factory for its high-horsepower tractors – excellent!

profi (8/2015)

Regarding weight: Only 10.8 t unladen weight permit flexible ballasting and 18 t perm. overall weight (16 t for 60 km/h) provide a huge 7.2 t payload - excellent!

profi (8/2015)

In terms of engine-transmission control, Fendt does it better. And when the pressure sensor in the transmission hydrostats detect thrust, the ratio is not changed further. This all makes driving with the Vario a true pleasure.

The Fendt 939 Vario in the DLG PowerMix

Fendt 939 Vario – Record results in the DLG PowerMix Test: 242 g/kWh and only 10.7 g/kWh AdBlue*

  • The most economical Tier 4 final* compliant tractor up to now
  • 224 kW drawbar power*
  • High ballast capacity: 7.2 t payload*
  • "Excellent“ for the integrated tyre pressure regulation system Fendt VarioGrip*

* Results for the Fendt 939 Vario according to DLG PowerMix in profi-tractor test 08/2015

Engine and transmission: Superior performance. Perfection in detail

Fendt promises.

High level of constant power: Twin-charging with two turbochargers ensures pure dynamics with fuel-saving driving characteristics. The torque curve is well-rounded in the low speed range, so that more power is already available there. The engine also has a large constant power range.

The press writes.

profi (8/2015)

And in terms of effectiveness, the 939 Vario does not need to hide: of the now 287 kW/390 hp rated power, 258 kW/351 hp actually arrived at the stub on the test bench at the DLG Test Centre.

The press writes.

Matériel Agricole (4/2015)

The consumption measurements show the vehicle is very well harmonised. The Fendt tractor outperforms the other tested tractors in this power class.

Engine and transmission: Perfect coordination for the best drive train

Fendt promises.

The tractor regulates the load limit fully automatically and adjusts the engine speed and transmission ratio, thus controlling the reduction in engine load. In this way, the engine and transmission are perfectly coordinated, which means extremely low fuel consumption.

The press writes.

profi (8/2015)

In terms of engine-transmission control, Fendt still does it better. This all makes driving with the Vario a true pleasure.

Draft tractor: Constantly achieve more

Fendt promises.

The 900 Vario, with its relatively low unladen weight of less than eleven tonnes and a clever ballast concept, allows you to adjust weight distribution to suit your requirements.

The press writes.

profi (8/2015)

Regarding weight: Only 10.8 t unladen weight permit flexible ballasting and 18 t perm. overall weight (16 t for 60 km/h) provide a huge 7.2 t payload — excellent!

The press writes.

Matériel Agricole (4/2015)

Well-balanced, with adequate ballast and the right tyre pressure, the 939 Vario proves to be a capable draft tractor. Its manoeuvrability is a special advantage at the headlands.

Perfect operating ergonomics for every operator

Fendt promises.

The aluminium trail for external terminals offers flexible mounting options and a good grip even for heavy equipment terminals. Any driver can find the best operating egonomics for themselves.

The press writes.

dlz (7/2014)

Additional implement terminals can be mounted on an aluminium rail, where they can be easily operated.

x5 cab: Does extras

Fendt promises.

To expand the operating spectrum even further, Fendt offers a factory-installed full-function reversing driver station. It only takes a few steps to turn the driver seat, including the steering wheel, multi-function armrest and all the control elements, around 180 degrees.

The press writes.

profi (8/2015)

The Vario also scores points with its (optional) reversing driver station. The dashboard plus steering wheel and pedals as well as the operating armrest are quickly turned around 180° – perfect!

Fendt VariotronicTI: Perfectly controlled

Fendt promises.

Fendt has been consistently following the ONE-terminal strategy. The result is the unique integration of functions in just one terminal. That is the lead through integration.

The press writes.

profi (8/2015)

We know of nothing better, when it comes to headland management, terminal and multifunction grip.

The press writes.

Matériel Agricole (4/2015)

The terminal is intuitive and easy to handle.

Mounting areas: More connections

Fendt promises.

With the hydraulic lateral stabilisers the lower linkage can be fixed in any position. The settings can be set in the Varioterminal. On the street the system increases the driving comfort and safety. In the field the implement can be fixed at any time.

The press writes.

profi (8/2015)

In this context, the hydraulic lateral stabilisers also deserve a “double plus”.

Fendt 900 Vario: Can do more. Does it better

Fendt promises.

The electrohydraulic rear linkage, which has a maximum lift capacity of 11,800 daN, guarantees that even heavy rear-mounted implements for this power class can be lifted to the fullest height without trouble.

The press writes.

profi (8/2015)

The 939 Vario can lift a 5-t implement safely. And the hydraulic capacity? If one orders the axial piston pump with 205 instead of 152 l/min, nearly 210 l/min arrive at the rear connections. Of that, more than 140 l/min alone through the first valve – excellent!

The press writes.

profi (8/2015)

Power lifts with intelligent double-acting control or a load compensating lowering valve cannot be found on the competitors, just like the nearly unlimited options for assigning controls and settings for the hydraulic valves.

VarioGrip for the right pressure in the tyre

Fendt promises.

VarioGrip is the integrated Fendt tyre pressure regulation system. The inner tyre pressure can be adjusted as desired for field or road work from 0.6 to 2.5 bar using the Varioterminal. The tyre pressure regulation system VarioGrip adjusts tyre pressure fully automatically within a short amount of time, even while driving at maximum speed.

The press writes.

profi (8/2015)

Apropos draft work: Fendt is the only manufacturer to offer an integral tyre pressure regulation system directly from the factory for its high-horsepower tractors – excellent!

The press writes.

profi (8/2015)

Cleanly integrated and without TÜV technical approval issues (e.g. because of excessively wide lines), that is only possible with “VarioGrip”.

Making things happen with the Fendt 900 Vario

Fendt promises.

Speed is a must for transport work – exactly the right thing for the new 900 Vario with a top speed of 60 km/h. With the 900 Vario, you will reach your destination safely: equipped with the latest safety systems for tractors, such as ABS or the tyre pressure regulation system VarioGrip, driving the 900 Vario is now even safer. You reach your destination faster and can simply move more.

The press writes.

Matériel Agricole (4/2015)

The Fendt 939 was the fastest tractor in our test trip with a 24 t trailer.

The press writes.

Matériel Agricole (4/2015)

The 939 Vario is one of the most compact tractors in its class. Wheelbase, height and length of the tractor are comparatively small. It belongs to the lightest tractors and has a low mass/power ratio, which is an advantage during transport work. It can be ideally ballasted for tillage work.
